Apple Crumble

Ingredients

Crumble

Flour - 300 g
Salt - ½ tsp
Brown sugar - 175 g
Butter - 200 g
Unsalted. At room temperature.

Filling

Apples - 500 g
Skin and core removed
Brown sugar - 50 g
Flour - 1 tbsp
Cinnamon powder - ½ tsp

Serve with

(Optional) Custard - 1 cup
Quantity multiplier

Directions

Step 1

Pre heat oven to 180c

Step 2

Cut apples into 1 cm pieces.

Step 3

Mix all crumbled ingredients in one bowl. Rub the mixture using your hands until it resembles breadcrumbs and all the butter is incorporated.

Step 4

In a pan, lightly cook the filling (do not make the apple mushy)

Step 5

Butter an ovenproof dish. Spoon the filling into the bottom and sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.

Step 6

Bake for 40-45 minutes until the crumble is browned and the filling is bubbling

Step 7

Serve with custard
